The challenge
Manufacturers in the medical, veterinary and dental sectors were running e-commerce on Drupal 7 and Ubercart — both out of support. After a series of mergers, several companies also needed to share one platform to cut operating costs, without losing their own catalogues, pricing and billing.
What we built
A new portal on Drupal 10, built from the ground up as a multisite platform. Merged companies share one infrastructure, with streamlined billing and advanced shipping calculations.
Commerce
- Progressive Web App, so customers can install the portal and use it like a desktop application.
- Discount management that calculates prices under complex discount conditions.
- CSV imports to add products to the cart and update prices in bulk.
- Multi-currency, with the currency chosen automatically by the customer's region.
- Multiple payment gateways, with access rules by currency and region.
- Shipping settings that calculate costs accurately across options.
Operations
- Technical notices, published on the site and sent by email.
- User-level and site access control, with single sign-on for easy onboarding.
- Factory code generation to simplify product maintenance.
- An employee email router for flexible mail routing.
- XLSX exports of products and orders, and PDF receipts for every order.
- Catalogue and category search, plus bulk category updates.
The result
A clean, intuitive portal that makes spare parts and technical notices easy to find — reducing support requests so service teams can focus on their work — on a single, maintainable infrastructure shared by the merged companies.
